Crawford Grove Missionary Baptist Church is one church with two locations. The Evans, Ga location was established in 1879. The Lincolnton, GA location was established in October of 2018. The Crawford Grove Missionary Baptist Church pastor is the Reverend Curtis Govan. He is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina and is the youngest of seven children of the late Sam Govan and Earth Lee Govan. After graduating from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1980. Pastor Govan enlisted in the United States Army and retired from the military with 20 plus years of service. Pastor Govan accepted the Lord Jesus Christ on October 23rd, 1994 and was baptized in December of that year. After accepting the Lord Jesus Christ in October, that following year in April the Lord called him to preach the Gospel. After acknowledging his calling into the Ministry, Pastor Govan served in a number of capacities in the Church. Pastor Govan served as a Deacon to make full proof of his calling into the Ministry, as well as Trustee, choir member and a member of the Usher ministry. In August of 1995, Pastor Govan moved to Augusta, Georgia and became a member of Mount Transfiguration Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clarence D. Hill. On January 11th, 1998 Reverend Hill licensed him to preach the Gospel.

In March 2016, Pastor Govan accepted the call to pastor the flock of Crawford Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was installed on Sunday, May 22nd, 2016. Since then, Pastor Govan has gained a reputation for proclaiming the word in a lightning-rod fashion that exhorts the saints to celebrate, while drawing sinners to Christ through the Holy Spirit. During his tenure, Pastor Govan has sought God for His vision, laid before the Lord for His anointing, and obeyed the directions given by God. Pastor Govan is a visionary, leading this ministry to higher heights and greater depths in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 2016 Pastor Govan presented a vision of a new Edifice and in January 2019 the Vision came to pass as the Crawford Grove Missionary Baptist Church marched into and dedicated its new Edifice to the Lord. Pastor Govan is happily married to Jacqueline Govan. From this union, they became proud parents of one son, Curtis Samuel (Pamela) and three grandchildren.
